Hi. We just bought a 1999 Mako 191.
It came with a Simrad CE32 DGPS chart sounder.

Im thinking there must be huge changes made in the last 11 years, so
wondered if you reckoned it worth changing it out. If so do you recommend
anything specific, or anything specific to look for. Mainly we want to put in fishing spots as easy as possible, and of course find our way home !
Needs to be under $500 or there abouts.

Also we should start looking for a used kicker engine, again, any recommendations on what might be best for this boat?

Thanks

While I'm at it ...might ask about the fishfinder too. Must be a 1999 one, cant remember the make now. But worth updating?

Thanks

Re: GPS and fishfinder advice...?

Too many questions on too many topics and mostly in the wrong forum, Milligan.

Please post your questions about GPS and SONAR in the Electrics and Electronics Forum and your outboard engine questions in the appropriate outboard forums.

Thanks, and good luck. :)

Look into a Garmin GPS/sounder and kill 2 birds with 1 stone, it is a GPS and a fish finder, you can run just the GPS screen or a split screen and they are color and in your price range.

I have had mine for 2 years now and love it.
