You will have to go to Navionics website and compare the '07 and '08 maps. http://navionics.com/HMPremium07.asp to see if there are lakes in the newer one that you care about.

In general, they have added a number of new small lake maps along with providing higher-definition on some of the larger lakes. Only you will know if those lakes are important to you. '07 is priced at $99, while the '08 is at $149.

I have the Eagle Intellimap 502c and will be going with Premium Hotmaps '08 for the NE. There was a couple of new small lakes I fish, along with HD of Cayuga Lake.

Note: If it is not designated a high-definition lake, you will only have "general" detail of depth. I viewed the '08 at Cabela's and looked at Otisco Lake, which is one of the small finger lakes. The depth lines ran similar to: http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/otislkmap.pdf
