Like the title states....anyone know how to do this? The Mississippi DMR has a website with the waypoints for a bunch of man made shell reefs. I'd like to transfer these to my Navionics gold card on my Lowrance Elite 5 DSI/GPS. Thanks!

Depending on your computer, you may be able to use a home PC. FIrst, copy and paste the group of numbers to MS Word or similar program. Then see if your comoputers 15 card reader will accept your Navionics SD card. Then copy the numbers to the card on the 'update' feature.

Here's the catch....it depends on your operating system. My Magellan was simple to update but my Garmin would not. I wound up loading all the numbers into a laptop GPS program (Sea Sense) and transferring them individually. Took forever. It would have actually been easier to sit and program them into the GPS while on the boat drinking a beer.

Fireman431 has the right idea. Ideally, you would want to copy and paste the information into a spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel) and then save it as a comma or tab delimited TXT file.

Now I know for a fact that NavPlanner 2 can import comma delimited TXT files and spit out a Lowrance USR version 3 file. I don't know off the top of my head whether your Lowrance unit accepts version 3 or version 4 by default but that's something to pay attention to.
