My Wagner paint crew has served me well but it is a PIA to clean. Clean-up time is almost as long as the time it takes to spray a room. So today I purchased a Graco mangum project painter at Lowes for $239 because the clean-up looked so much easier. Has anyone had any experience with this sprayer?

They are all a pain to clean. That being said, that model is a diaphram driven airless sprayer. I have had three of them (different brands) and none of them were worth a nickle spraying latex paint.

I finally bought a $1000.00 Graco piston driven sprayer. It works without fail, but it is a PIA to clean as well. None of them are any good for small jobs.

I paint for a living and use a Titon 440. small and useful. I can do a closet or a whole house. The Lowes and Home depo models are a bit under professional lines. That being said.............

You'll get some good use out of it I'm sure, I have never used one but cleaning sprayers has never been a chore for our crews.

Our last titon was used for 6 years, Still good we just bought the 440 as a back up to the 660 model.

If you haven't used it yet try to return it and check out a Pawn store for a used Professional sprayer

Parts list shows this being a piston pump. I will use this only for home projects. The wagner still works great even though I have ran about 30 gallons of paint through it. I know that cleaning the gun and hose will be the same on both units but the wagner has a hopper to clean and you also have to disassemble the pump. I will be using latex paint only in this sprayer.

I did some looking into that Graco. It is a piston pump which is a must. For the money I'll bet it is a pretty decent, effective little unit.

Re: graco paint sprayer

I read the above posts with interest. I too am looking for a good paint sprayer. What do you think of the following paint sprayer?

Milwaukee ZRM491020 Airless/Fine Finish Paint Sprayer from Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Factory-Reconditioned-Milwaukee-ZRM491020-Airless-Sprayer/dp/B003WJK10A

Works as airless sprayer or an HVLP fine finish sprayer. Can easily switch between airless and HVLP fine finish applications. Base is compatible with containers up to 5 gallons in size

Re: graco paint sprayer

Well since I last posted I have used the graco to paint the ceiling in my garage and two large decks and some outside trim. The unit performed very well, was fast and easy to clean....much easier than my wagner. The only suggestion is don't use a gallon paint can as it will consume it fairy quick and you will have to reprime for the next gallon. I "boxed" 2 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket to avoid the hassle and it worked great. I don't know anything about the Milwaukee but the Graco gets better reviews.

I have the graco paint sprayer. I love it. I have painted doors and a house with it and it worked GREAT! And as others have said, all paint sprayers are a pain in the butt to clean. Some are harder than others. This one isn't too bad. IMHO it was well worth the money.

Bought a $65 Ryobi sprayer to do the wicker porch furniture, after brief learning curve(Big Mess), worked real good...about an hour to really clean up after paint job! Great for any bigger jobs!

Re: graco paint sprayer

having worked in a rental store & serviced several brands of sprayers i would pick the graco.i prefer a diaphram over piston for lite use,i plan on pu 1 of the graco for $299 from home depot very soon.parts are cheaper for a tune up ,no tube to get worn out & replaced at a fairly high $ .packings for the piston type are fairly cheap & come with a new set of ball valves as they get beat up after 100 gal or so.glad to hear its working out good for you
