Grades of popular boat brands?

I remain fairly new to boats. In general, what brands are on the low end, midrange, and high end? Definitely not meaning to degrade anyone...I've got a Bayliner myself which I understand is on the low end. From what I've gathered (no experience on it though), like Wellcrafts, Four Winns, and Starcrafts are a step above. Where do other brands sit?

..you know quality is low when you find foam between the glass and the wood of your stringers...

Well, we all know that Baja's are the best...... :D

In all honesty, any boat that floats, runs all day, and provides fun for the family would be classified as an excellent boat in my book. ;)

Some low end boats are light years from where they were ten years ago.

Some high end boats are not what they once were.

It's a moving target.

That is an excellent definition.

I agree with DJ. If you look back over the decades, it's been a wild ride. Even if you narrow this down to current boats, a lot of qualifiers are needed. Are you really grading comfort? Or construction? Or customer service? Or engineering? Or sea keeping? Or style? You can't expect all of these factors to line up across the board. Here is a link to another thread on this topic -
