Found the zerks by the engine no prob, but didn't see any zerks by the wheel end? Assume it is a rack and pinion? as it is a long bar under the console. Is there a cover to take off to grease the rack? This boat has been sitting (inside) for almost 10 years hence the concern..

Johnson 70 on Rinker Bowrider.

Thanks.. :)

Jeff

You probably don't need to worry about the rack. Teleflex cautions about using "regular" grease because it might attack the plactic cable sheath. The zerks you are referring to on the other end are probably for the tilt tube not the steering cable. Unless someone added additional zerks you have to remove the steering cable to get lubricant to it. My guess is if its stiff you will need a new cable, if its not you're good to go.

Thanks jimd. Will check. Probably is fine as the boat is very low time.

Jeff
