Hey Guys,

I have been having a hard time trying to find some of the green spray paint to repaint my out boards lower unit. It is a 1973 65 hp. Does anyone know where I can find some of this? The guy at my local Johnson marina can't find it in his books. Any help would be much appreciated,,,, Dan

An automotive paint store can match it and mix you some.

What Bob says is correct...........................but to add a little, if there is any bare metal at all on the lower unit that you are trying to repaint, then I would suggest using a zinc chromate primer.

To get that primer, or any paint for that matter, to stick you will need to etch the aluminume with acetone or 50/50 vinegar water solution

There's a guy named Peter up in Canada that sells paint matched to original factory colors...forget the link but you can get there by checking the links page at http://www.aomci.org
It's pricey but if you're a stickler for accuracy guess it's worth it.
