Hello guys ,
I'm new to boating and don't really know all that much, I just bought an 1988 Grew and it has a 115 Mercury on it . The motor runs fine and is connected straight to the battery . My problem is that I have a nest of wiring for the boat ( lights , horn , pump and other accessories) and have no idea what is what . Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this boat ?

Welcome aboard.

Your boat is probably suffering from 30 years of prior owners hacking and whacking, then adding stuff to the electrical system with no regard for common sense.

Wiring is wiring for the most part. I believe AllDodge or Scott Danforth has a generic wiring diagram for a boat, including color codes standards if PO's tried to keep things straight.

Howdy

In most cases it sometimes is best to rip it all out and start over, but in any case, wiring is generic. Get the motor wiring all cleaned up, then decide which is best for you and your budget.

Its best to run new Positive and Negative wires to feed anything that the motor does not need to run. Here is the generic wiring diagram. If you have any specific questions, fire away, will try to help

What you have is normal for most manufactures. They tap off the Red/Purple feeding the ignition to accessories. This does work so lang as there is only light loads. Not the best way but the cheapest

As for the trim, it is connected on the starter post so no need to change anything with it
