First thank you in advance all for the input. I am starting to shop for all the supplies to do a restore of my 86 bayliner 16 ft bow rider. I am weighing my options to restore or replace. I bought the boat cheap in the fall of last year. I was told the floor was replaced. Come to find out, they did a layover. Every bit of wood that was in the boat had another piece of wood put over it and reglassed. Starting next month I'm going to start gutting, if the supplies dont cost more than the boat is worth.

I was looking here on Iboats at all the supplies. I didn't realize there are so many options for the supplies, such as weight and type of fiber glass material. What type and weight of material should I be looking for, and about how much. Also about how much floation foam is needed. Can we put a list of the basics together, so I can begin pricing this project out

Post up some pics of your boat so we can see what you're working with. A good guess-ti-mate for a full restoration on boats of this type is approximately $1,500 to $2,000 and you'll never get your money back but... she'll be like new and new boats run $15,000 so I think it's prolly worth it if you don't mind the hot, itchy, yucky work.
