I have a Guess Pro Charge 2613 that is probably 8 years old. I use it to charge my starting battery and the 2 trolling motor batterys. It works great.

My question: I disconnect all the wires and attach the charger leads to charge the battery. When the batterys areech back when charged, I disconnect the charger leads and reconnect all the connections for the boat.

Can I leave the charger leads on the battery and when I get ready to charge the battery just plug in the ac connection??

My real concern is my boat is a 1979 Ranger V178 and it had a switch on the front panel that you used to switch when charging and then switch back for boat operation. I do not use this switch. I just dont want make sure I dont blow a poer pack.

Re: Guess Pro Charge 2613

The switch at the front of the boat is a "CHARGE/RUN" switch that allowed charging the batteries (24V system) through the trolling motor connector. Since this is a 24V system, it was necessary to break the series connection to disconnect the the two batteries and allow charging both with a 12V charger. The Guest 2613 is a three bank (5/5/5 amp) charger, it is designed to be left connected to each individual battery. You should not have to even worry about the switch. Multiple bank chargers generally have isolated outputs so the grounds are not "common" with each other which is the root problem in a 24 charging system. With isolated grounds, that's not an issue. Connect each charger output to one of the batteries and simply plug in when you want to charge them. That's the way the charger was designed.

Concur with ST.
Mine stays hooked up all the time.
Mine is also set up to charge from the front if I wanted to.
3 position switch.
Charge, run and neutral.
