How are you at body work? I know where there is a 72 with great running gear, 350 and a 4 sp car also with a 12 bolt rear. Needs everything else though. Has some serious rust in the usuall places at the lower back of the wheelwells front and back. $2,500.

How about a '64 with the 350 4 bolt engine and 400 turbo behind it? :D

I am so jealous LD!!!! I stumbled onto a 68 z28 many years ago behind an old run down garage. I thought I had just found what us camaro lover's dream of. The old guy would not part with it, no matter what I offered. I have driven through that old town a couple of times since then and it is still sitting there. What a waste! Good Luck! I hope you get it! Zach

Well, I might as well update this while its here.

Like the above post, they wont part with it for any amount of money. So far anyway. Probably when it falls through the floor and the shack caves in on it we will get a call.

Right now we are going to go look at a 1970, 396, (402), Camaro sometime in the next few weeks. I understand that there were only about 2,400 made that year with that engine. Boss is handling an estate that has it listed as an asset. I guess it was purchased new and has been drag raced most of its life so we will have to look very closly. Been garaged all its life though, so shouldnt have to deal with rust. When we look at it I will post a new thread on it.

I watched a '69 Roadrunner rust into junk because the owner wouldn't sell. I asked him for about 15 years to sell. I kept getting "No, I'm going to restore it soon." 'Soon' never came and now it's total junk. What's wrong with people. If I had a classic that I could or wouldn't repair I'd rather sell it and see it fixed up than let it rot away.

a 63 bonnieville the guy said he would sell it, I had a 63 star chief drove an hour out cash in hand, he changed his mind. " I think I am going to keep it and fix it up someday" 2 yrs later he tried to sell it to me again. my chief was gone told him to stick it! My old neibor and friend had a 40 nash he lost storage for and put it in his yard. would not sell it for any price. It is now a pile of rust. not one part usable. What is wrong with people? I would rather see an old loved car fixed up and on the road making someone happy than to lose it to the ground. I see this story played over and over again. Crying shame

There is a junk yard not far from where I live the newest car in the place mybe mid 60's. My dad has tried to buy one but he won't part with any of them. Their have got to be at least 100 -150 cars in there if not more. Slowly rusting away.

James, I believe I know the exact yard you are talking about. Family used to live about a mile from it. When the sun was right it was an awesome sight with all the broken windshields glimmering.

I have 2 friends that won't fix or sell their cars, 68/69 belvedere and 49 roadmaster. The one will sell his but wants more than the car is worth if it was completly done.

Good luck on the ride LD.
