I bought a boat that had a guest pro charger onboard. My current setup is I have a Everstart Marine starting battery that I use for cranking the motor and running the fishfinder , bilges , livewell. And I have a Everstart Marine Deep Cycle just for my trolling motor (12v right now).
2613 is a Full-featured onboard charger designed for the weekend angler, Model 2613 has a fully independent 3 amp output for cranking and two 5 amp outputs for trolling or house batteries. Total output for this versatile unit is 13 amps. Prewired with one 6-ft. AC cord and three 4-ft. DC outputs.
I noticed that when I plug the charger in it's showing 13.7+ out of the 2 "trolling motor" wires and the charging light comes on in the trolling motor bank side. The starting battery wire isn't showing anything on my meter, even tried with the fuse out directly from the fuse holder and the light 'DOES NOT' come on the starting battery side. I think the starting wire is dead on my charger.
My question is this, since Im just running 2 batterys right now (1 Starting and 1 Trolling) can I just use 1 trolling motor wire to the starting battery and the other trolling wire to the trolling battery and just tape off the starting battery wire that isn't working? Will this hurt my starting or trolling batteries charging like this?
Starting battery
Everstart 24MS-6
Trolling battery
Everstart 27DC-6
Thanks,
