Can't fin my hull indetification number on my 1976 fiberglass hydrasports bass boat. I have looked all over the transom, but nothing, no plate, no number. I can't register my boat in thexas with out this number, they also want me to make a pencil etching of the actualy number.. what should I do?<br /><br /> Thomas

boater,<br /><br />Many boats didn't have HID's until later years. If it is anywhere, it will be on the transom (outside) on the upper right corner.<br /><br />Hydrasports is still in business, to my knowledge. They may be of some help. At least to tell you that it didn't have one.<br /><br />If that's the case, you'll have to go with "homebuilt" status.

In addition to the transom, some manufacturers put a "hidden" number on the boat. Try looking on the underside of major boat parts that can be easily gotten to. Foredecks, etc. If it's not on the transom, this is a longshot, though.
