Hi all, I rebuilt the carb on my 45 hp 1970ish chrysler and it fired right up...sounded great. I started it a few times last nite and it started with just a couple turns of the starter. same thing today although the second time it ran today for less than a minute it suddenly died. It tries to start but just can't quite get there. I cleaned out the complete fuel system and have brand new gas/oil mix. If I choke it while trying to start it will maybe pop once or twice. then i will try to start it without choke and it will start for like 1-2 seconds until i let go of the key. I checked both spark plugs and wires and they seem to have good fire and the timing mark lines up with the number one cylinder at tdc. I looked in the trouble shooting section of the manual but it wasn't no help with this issue. Any suggestions are welcome..Thanks,

Rich

Re: Had it running....

I got her started...it must have been the gas. there must have still been some bad gas in the system because it fired right up this morning and seems to be running good. I am going to put it in the water this weekend to check out the prop and lower unit...the guy i bought it from said one or the other is slipping when you give it more than a little throttle. So i will probably be back asking more questions next weekend. thanks for the help and have a safe weekend.

Rich
