I have come upon a Jet BD-920N metal lathe and learning more about the capabilities daily. My question is this, does anybody that is familiar with this lathe or even the Grizzly G4000 version own either and have any problems with the half nut engagement? I have taken the entire cross sled assembly off the ways and taken it all part, cleaned everything and understand how everything is supposed to work. But the lower section of the half nut catches on the camming gear section at the very edge of the cut channel. I was just wondering if that is something that is normal or is it just this one. Seems the protruding pin is catching on the very edge of the camming gear instead of sliding smoothly in the cut channel. Any ideas? Don't want to do too much hand filing if there is another way to solve that issue...

Possible someone replaced the half nut assembly. I know they wear out and I see them on ebay all the time. I wonder if someone just got one that appeared to fit.

I have done quite a bit of lathe work and have access to two of them at my friends....... both of his are MUCH larger then the Jet you have (which would be a fun size to have)
