hard shifting between FWD/NEUTR/REV

6 HP Johnson- I have a hard time shifting between forward,nuetral,reverse--- lever seems to bind up, even when turning the prop for ease of gear meshing. <br />Where is the shifter mechanism located and easy enough to troubleshoot??<br /><br />Thanks All!!

Remove the lower unit to determine if the stiffness is at the lower unit or powerhead area.<br /><br />If the shift lever is still difficult to move, the powerhead will require removing so that you can remove and clean the shift lever shaft area.
