Hello All,
So I was running the boat this morning and put about 9 gallons of gas in the girl, started it up and let it run for about 10 minutes, then shut it down to test some other up/down stern drive things, I could not get it to fire back up, not sure why??? I poured some gas down the carburetor and it fired right up again, it still will not idle very well, so I throttle it up to about 1000 RPM, Please recall I originally had bad gas in the tank and cleaned it out the best I could, should I check my fuel pump, or what do you all recommend?

Thanks again for all your help

Rick

So the guy I got the carb from said it was just within the last Month rebuilt, could it still be picking up bad fuel? Maybe?

Thanks Bondo

Ayuh,.... Could be,.... That's Why I tell folks to check the Contents of the fuel filter a few hundred times a week,....

If the bad fuel made it to the carb, it ain't a rebuilt carb anymore,...
It's a crappy carb in need of a rebuild,....

Hello All,
I opened up the Gas sending unit and siphoned everything out, including some particles of ????? very small, Do I actually have a fuel filter, I do know I have a water separator right before the fuel pump, but see no filter, if I have a fuel filter, where would it be?

Thanks again everyone for your help

Hey Rick, guess you just don't want anyone to know what your working on. Is it a boat, chain saw, lawn mower, knowing what motor and year sure helps, but if you don't want to tell anybody, have a good time and best of luck

Oops,
Sorry, it is a 1997 Celebrity 180 bow rider with a 4.3L in/outboard, and yes, it is a BOAT! Just having small issues with it
