Has anyone used a pinstripe remover such as this?

Napa paint swears this will easily take pin striping and adhesive off with no damage to gel coat. Anyone have experience using a similar one?? Frank

Yes, they work well. Used them many times. As with anything, don't hold it in one spot to long, it may burn the gel. Never had that happen, but I err on the side of caution.

Yep took all the 18 year old pinstriping off my boat last year in a snap. Use some acetone to clean up the residual glue.

Neighbor saw me using razor blade and loaned me one. Only way to remove pinstriping.. awesome tool.

They work great, as mentioned before...do not hold in one spot for too long...acetone for clean up afterwards works great.

It's a real good way of ruining a drill since they aren't designed for side pressure.

If wearing out the drill is a concern, buy a cheap drill from harbor freight to abuse. Only reason to buy tools from there! :)

Thank you everyone for your responses! I used it and I can happily say it produces awesome results. I stripped all of my pinstriping off one side of the boat in less than 30 minutes! I couldn't imagine doing that with a heat gun and a razor blade. For others considering this... a few lessons I learned: get the rpms and the wheel direction right else the wheel will become difficult to handle and will jump a lot. very fast is not necessarily the best of choice versus a nice moderate speed. I do the other side next weekend. :)
