Has anyone used more than one keelguard (side by side)?

Just curious if anyone has used more than one keelguard? One down the center, and two on either side for further protection?

If you really need that many, I'd reconsider the hull type... 99.999% of the damage happens right on the keel, it really doesn't pay to have one off of to the side.

I've never used one (never owned a glass boat), but I've read people complain about scratches on either side of the keel guard if the boat rocks a bit? Does that not normally happen?

I ask because I'm considering glass for a deeper V - the alum deeper V's are mega bucks.

There is a difference in keel guards when it comes to width and thickness. Betting the guys complaining spent less and got less.
Time to go to the marina and do some walking and talking to see what works in your area.

Interesting, I didn't know what a keel guard was before this thread. I just bought a bowrider and there are plenty of sandy beaches I see many other bowriders "beached" on, do you suggest only doing that with a keel guard installed?

I wouldn't personally beach my boat without the keel guard, as I like the added protection it provides. That's just me though, maybe I'm anal retentive.

The best reason for a keel guard is to help prevent damage that can cause water intrusion, not for "cosmetics". Since keelguards aren't very cosmetic in the first place, there's not much reason to use additional guards to prevent cosmetic damage which is usually an easy fix...

I'm more the opposite. The yellow keelguard matched my hull very closely, and unless you look specifically for it, its basically invisible. Although having it protect from the big hits, I'm more interesting in protecting from the scuffing that comes from beaching on a sandy beach with an occassional pebble size rock.
