A buddy of mine has a '99 Searay that he was thinking of selling on Ebay and I wanted to get some feedback from people here if they have ever sold one through them. I have sold some small things, (stereo, old camera), but not a big ticket item like a boat.
Any thoughts? Good/Bad experiences?

I have sold them on Ebay.
I listed them as local pick up only.
That way the buyer can come check them out and pay cash.
Also beware of buyers with no or little feedback.
Cash only....Paypal for a deposit only.

Watch out for scammers....they will hit about every ad and offer to send a money order that ends up being a fake but it may take the bank several days to figure that out.

Try Craigslist first as that's free. Perhaps run an ad in the local newspaper classifieds as well.

Why Paypal for deposit only?

I have sold a 66 mustang convert and bought several big ticket items 4 or 5 vehicles and a 34 ft. sailboat. Paypal charges a service charge of 1 or 2% so paypal for deposit works for big stuff . Post lots of pictures and have lots more to email for interested buyers . Be careful with wording. Once bought a diamond tennis bracelet for my wife. It indeed was a diamond bracelet with A SINGLE diamond rest was glass. Jeweler said worth about what I paid not enough to cover cost of shipping etc. I am more of a fan of Craigslist and Kijiji now
