Opinions vary as to which way it should be mounted. In your area I say go through the cooler first and then the radiator to warm it back up a certain amount. Here in Texas we run it through the radiator first and then to the cooler. Either way its one of the best add-ons you can do to a vehicle. Even the smallest of coolers are a great add-on.

What we do in cold Country is attach the cooler to the rad face and with hoses directly to rad lines clamped on and plugs in the rad, {cooler line hook up holes]for the hot months ,then in the winter unhook the hoses,install the lines in the rad and plug the hoses till hot days again long wait .Coolers are great for the trannie esp if your hauling anything bigger the better
