String of issues, began when engine got flooded with water (drain plug left in). Got all that resolved, new starter, etc. Ran great with muffs, several oil changes, the whole nine yards. First time out...all was good until I got past the buoys...gave throttle...very little power, would not plane...then the head gasket blew out (confirmed with cylinder pressure test). I suspect a combination of possibly old fuel, faulty ignition module (yes, read all the threads here before posting!), possibly pre-ignition.

Current questions...looks like I can pull the head WITH the manifold on it? Recommended gaskets? Link to replacement ignition module, and proper timing instructions! (I have no manual). Any help very much appreciated; will be pulling head off this Sunday.

Great site, BTW!

Thanks! I looked at the link, but couldn't find engines...only outdrives? Maybe I am not seeing it?

Usually much more likely to be water from the exhaust manifold and risers, than the head gasket.
with the original post...I’d still suspect it wasn’t the head gasket, but sticking valves causing his poor compression test...after water from the manifolds.
