Is there an input and output of the raw water side of a H/E? One side seems higher than the other? Or doesn't it matter?

Re: Heat Exchanger Question

On my San Juan Engineering H/E, the raw water enters at the bottom of the unit and exits from a port on the side of the unit. That makes the exit higher than the entry. Both ports are at the same end of the tube.

Re: Heat Exchanger Question

these things normally follow a heat rises pattern.. hotter at the top.. cooler at the bottom.. on the raw water side that would be in at the bottom out at the top..

on the engine circuit side it would be the other way round.. in at the top and out at the bottom..

trog100
