I need some help. When I turn on the key switch on my boat the needle for the heat gauge go'es down instead of staying still or going up a little.. I'm trying to get the boat ready for the sommer but I don't dear run it to long in fear of it getting hot. I have only ran it for two or so min, not long enough to come to temp should I run it longer to see if the needle comes up or what?

Re: Heat gauge

ya might read this. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=220416

other than that. in my mercrusier i/o. my temp gauge starts out cold too. as it warms up (which takes 5 or so minuets), the temp gauge moves up to normal operating temp.

fwiw. be sure your supplying water to the drive/engine while running in the driveway. prior to starting even.
