Bad idea. My 2500 Duramax costs $125 to fill up right now. Commuting to work costs me $100/week. The wife and I were looking at new houses and I blew through $75 in Diesel just driving around on a Saturday.

Hummm..right out of school, buying a big truck, a cruiser boat and a motor cycle. Where does a place to live, electric and water bills, reliable transportation to get to and from work, medical and auto insurance, savings and retirement accounts, gas/diesel and food fall on the list?

Everyone has different circumstances.....

Right out of school I bought a house, had a truck, had 2 boats and a scooter. Never missed a bill, have never not had reliable transportation (actually have never had to call in to work), have plenty of insurance, and eat steak whenever I want....and still put plenty in savings and 401k.

Fact is, we don't know anyone's situation......

I would buy one a few years old so someone else gets hit with the depreciation.

Thats what I did....not a HD truck, but a 1500. Bought it when it was 4 years old with 36k miles. Bought it for less than 50% of the original sticker.

To answer his question:

No, I wouldn't be a young adult with a heavy duty pickup, especially if it was a 1 ton dually.

An automobile is much needed first--and the truck comes later. And preferably the automobile is a Corvette or Jaguar convertible--a babe magnet.

nah those things draw the high maintainance types, trucks draw girls that'll go fishing, hunting, drinking and mudding. LOL

All my girls liked trucks but than again I haven't had too many cars except the occasional hot rod.
