Hi All,

Just a quickie this time ! I discovered that the holes that the alternator bracket is secured to are both stripped.

I have M10 x 1.5 helicoils ready to go in but alas I only have 8 - 10 inches and no way to get my electric drill in there to drill out the holes for the new helicoils. Finger twisting aint an option to enlarge the holes with a 10mm hss drill bit.

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to acheive this ?

Many thanks in advance.

Ron.

instead of helicoil, can you retap to the next largest bolt size, probably gonna be american not metric?

yep but thats the issue - no US taps round here. Its all metric !

Someone suggested using a metric tap as they are a tad bigger but not sure ??
