Firstly I will start by saying that I have a 1979 100HP Chrysler outboard model 1007H9A from memory, ok firstly I went to start my outboard today and remembered last night I had actually shorted a wire on my ammeter so I was a bit worried about starting it. Ok so no start it wound over as usual but no fire, I checked if I had a spark at TDC on no.1, no spark.
I checked to see if I could get 12v on the white/black wire, no good. I am pretty sure that the eye beam point system has gone, can anyone let me know if they have had a problem with a distributor in this way. I know it is the dizzy as I put my old 75hp dizzy on jus to see if it would spark no.1 and it did, obviously it is no good for the 4 cyl as it is from a 3 cyl, but it helped me diagnose that it may well be the dizzy eye beam thingy
