Help about Trolling Motors????????

I am new to this motor and boating stuff and i want to assemble a trolling motor to my canoe. I know i need a motor stand and a motor, but if i buy a Minn Kota trolling motor from this site do i need to also buy a battery separtely with it? THX

Yes, you will need a battery to run a trolling motor. And a charger to charge it. It needs to be a deep cycle/marine battery. They are available at most autoparts stores and major department stores that carry trolling motors.<br /><br />Welcome to iboats<br /><br />spots

Minn Kota makes an affordable charger for about $60, it's a 6A charger. I got one it works pretty good.
