Help again motor 2 or 4 stroke

I've been trying to find out what year is my mariner 25(ser#695 s 003858),i check the sites that you guy suggested.( i was told it was a 2 stroke) but everything (if any) refers to a 4 stroke. my question is how can you tell the difference between 2 and 4 strokes motors

That would be a 2 stroke.

Japanese built mariner, s/n puts it as 1980 model as found here http://www.storesonline.com/site/573683/page/608045.
I believe yamaha actually built these motors.

S/n comes up as:

25 M 695-003446 - 695-008330 1980

If the s/n is correct, the engine is a two stroke, where are you being told that it is a four stroke?

That's quite alright, that swedish site seems to have it all for s/n's.
New Liskeard and you speak swedish? I live just outside Ottawa and can't speak anything other than english.

Main thing is helping the guy figure out what he has.

storesonline is a copy of the marinshopen site though they seem to have mickey-moused it a bit.
