I am hoping someone has some suggestions. Have a 1988 Bayliner with a 50 HP Force outboard model # 507X8B. Ran fine started once at lake and then died. Fried both cd coil assemblies by putting 12 volts to the blue wires. Replaced both of them and the ignition switch. The new cd coils are Presolite part #116-8475 and have a white and orange wire I believe to be the kill wires. Still have no sparks. The new ignition switch has 2 M terminals, the old switch had M and I terminals. Still no spark. Any suggestions will help. Thanks, Stephanie

My E-mail address is baircoop@hotmail.com. Any help would be great! Also does anyone know how to tell which version the model 507X8B engine is? A lot of the parts sites ask if it is A B C or D.
Thanks, again.

The a-b-c-d refers to the last letter in the model number.
the letter "B" in your case.

Thanks for the info. Was also wondering if it was possible that when the 12 volts fried the cd-coils that it might have taken out the stator as well?
Stephanie
