help! can this be fixed

Hi,<br /> tex here again and i get my boat running and on the lake . i run around for a while load her up and go to the house. my son then wants to take it to the lake to impress his girlfriend so i say ok. ok now the problem. lake ride went fine and he put it on the trailer well he gets in the truck and pulls it out. he forgot to raise the motor :mad: . the fin below the prop got broke off bout half way. can we still use the boat or will it affect something. and can it be fixed and if so how much are we talking. please respond.

I wouldnt run without it.I hit a rock with mine this weekend and the skeg saved my prop.Too bad it couldnt save the gear housing. It cracked mine.

You can have it welded back, check a local prop shop or welder for the cost.

hello.<br />Yes it should and can be fixed.<br />You can either have a piece of aluminum welded back on there or you can buy another skeg.<br />About the price?<br />Here is your chance to impress your son by presenting him with the bill.<br />But seriously, not knowing your engine's make or year I really cannot tell you.<br />There is a good chance that your prop also got banged though you might not be able to see this.At the very least you should take your prop in to have it checked out or it might under perform and vibrate badly.<br />Good Luck.

Not a big deal. Easy to fix as long as the gear housing isn't cracked.
