I am wanting to rebuild the saddle and tilt and trim on a 1990 Johnson 120hp. For starters, I need advice on detaching the motor from the saddle. It looks like it is a matter of 6 bolts, two at the top steer arm shaft and 4 at the lower unit rubber AY Mount. Is this all that is required? The bolts in the AY Mount are really, really hard to turn. In fact my air wrench will not even budge them, only a long handled ratchet and all my body weight will budge them. I am afraid I am going to break them. Can someone please confirm that it is a matter of removing these six bolts? blisstate@gmail.com

Re: help detatching motor

it would probably be a lot easier, if you pulled the powerhead, and lower unit. and just deal with the midsection.
