HELP Engine overheated now wont start

I have a E25tecca that got hot while on ear muffs engine turns over by hand but nothing when u try electric start. I changed starter selenoid i was wondering what else could have happened. have not taken starter off yet. I was also wondering if powerpack fried if symptoms would be the same. thanks for any input

First thing to do would be to check your battery, cables and all connections. You have to have the mtr turning over good before you can check any ignition componets includeing the power pack or anything else.

Check your compression, overheating usually blows the headgasket to smitherines.

wward, are you telling us that the starter won't spin the flywheel?

Even if the powerhead was cooked like a pot of porridge, the starter should spin it if the powerhead isn't siezed.


I suggest taking a break, a cup of coffee and a doughnut, then go back and start over from the beginning. Make sure it is in neutral, etc, etc.

One thing for sure, it is not the power pack or starter motor, unless by strange coincidence or it caught fire or something. Just how hot did it get anyway? Burn or discolor the paint??
