Help ficht 175

i have a 1997 Johnson ficht 175. It was running good all day the the last time I ran it had low rpms and didn’t plane so I shut it off. Then I tried to start it and it wouldn’t crank so I took off the starter and it was bad. I replaced the starter today and two spark plugs. The starter turned the flywheel and the flywheel was spinning, some smoke came out of the pro, but there it wouldn’t fire up all the way. The primer bulb is full and hard. I don’t know what to do next. Someone said the power pack or the impeller. Help

Is your motor a Ficht or a fast strike? Plugs need to be replaced as a set and need to be indexed if it is a ficht.

Best to post a model # before any more posting.-----I can not find a 175 Ficht for 1997.

There was no 175 Fichts in 97, it was introduced in 98

The 98 and 99s were the most troublesome of the Fichts. Many upgrades/Mods were done, several remappings of the ECM, a new Cylinder Head were some of the "Upgrades". A lot of them received complete 2001 powerheads.
