Help figuring out which prop will work?

I put this in the wrong section before and referred here for help. Hello! Im embarking on a boat build and I just hung a 1973 Evinrude 135 on the back of a 1982 Ranger Bass boat 18'. I am going to need some help on this project so thanks in advance for your pearls of wisdom along the way. I had this motor brought down to me recently and in transit the prop got bent. 1. What do I need to replace this prop with? 2. Is it possible to salvage a bent prop? 3. I found someone close by that is selling an OMC 13x19 prop for cheap, will this work and be compatible for this boat? I do not know how to figure out the pitch that I need for this boat.

Thanks again!

Your present prop can be repaired. Tell us the size first, near the base of the blades or under the prop nut.
Do you know what boat it came off of?

Re: Help figuring out which prop will work?

Just for basic tests.
I would start with a 19p 3 blade and see what that does. If you can over rev the motor then go to a higher pitch. Once you find one that you can hit the mid to high end of the RPM range then load the boat with everything you will normally take and run it again. You should loose a couple hundred RPM.
Around here we have a prop shop that can work wonders, and they will loan out props for testing.
Once you find the right then I would go with a new version of a SS prop in that pitch.

Testing on your boat is the only way to know, none of use can magically give you the proper numbers. But a 19p is good place to start.

Thanks for all the replies. I will take some pictures of the damaged prop and try to get some more info and post it on here tomorrow.

Thanks again.
