Help finding part

I just purchased a 1978 (I believe) Mercury 110 9.8 serial number 4996631. It needs a new starter if I can find one within a reasonable price range. However, so far I can't find anything available. I believe the part number is 78011 but everything I pull up shows unavailable and/or no longer sold. There are some starters available for newer 9.8 merc 110's, but I haven't found anything with a "replaced by" part number. I hate to buy a newer one and it not match up. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

it may be cheaper to get your starter repaired or search evilbay

Yes it has electric start. I have most of the starter but unfortunately the bottom is missing, so I can't repair it. Tried eBay but can't find anything matching the part number. Located in SW Missouri.
