My 2002 Yamaha 70hp 2 cycle will run fine at full throttle for for 2-3 minutes, then lose power. I can idle all day long. When it's running good at full throttle and I squeeze the fuel bulb I feel gas and I can compress the bulb. When the engines begins to lose power and I try to squeeze the bulb it is hard as a rock -- I can't compress it at all.

Any idea what is wrong? What parts should I throw at it first?

Thanks.

Re: Help - fuel flow problem in 70 Yamaha

I do have same problem with 2001 70hp.
It used to stall or stop in choppy waters, and then it did it while going full speed. I changed the quickconnector, bulb, fuel pump, fuel filter, water/fuel seperating filter. Sprayed gumout several times. Still doing the same thing. Idles all day long, runs strong whenever it wants :(

This always worked. Stop the boat, turn off engine, tilt it up all the way up and down, start engine and no problems till it does it again.... Very frustrating.

Last thing i will try is try differetn tank with fresh gas..
