I've been in the process of restoring a few old boats. My fish finder (an old Eagle Fish Easy) was in the rod box of my old bass boat. We pulled the i/o motor out for repairs. My son left the box door open and it filled with rain water and my fish finder got soaked and water logged... now I'm SCREWED! I've spent so much money fixing my house after the tornado damage (I'm in Alabama) and fixing up the boat I'm now using that I'm strapped for funds. So, just thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone has a decent fish finder they'd like to sell for a reasonable or affordable price. I've had several through the years that came on old boats I've bought but not a single one is usable. I'm now trying to dry out the one that got swamped. I drilled a hole in the side behind the mounting thingy/bolt, blew compressed air through a hole that had a plug in it then heated some dry rice in the microwave and put the fish finder in with it in a zip lock bag... looks like it might work but won't know until I give it a few more days to dry out then hook it up. At any rate, I'm definitely looking for one that I'd be more comfortable with using. I'm just betting this thing is not going to work since I haven't even had it hooked up in a few years and I'm sure it will have corrosion on the circuits & probably moisture in anything it can get in and no telling about the micro switches.
