I just bought a little project for my son and I. The tile just says 1964 14' outboard. I haven't been able to find a serial number on the boat anywhere and the serial number on the tile looks like a generated one by state of FL. The guy I bought it off had no clue and I've reached out to previous owner but nothing yet.

My buddys friend thought it was a sea ray and it looks close but not quite right. Any ideas?

Also any recommendations on where to get restoration pieces like a new windshield bottom gasket and hold downs?

Thanks in advanced!

1964 is before the marine industry started assigning "HIN's" (hull identification numbers, ..the boat version of a VIN). Cute little boat.

Yep no HIN, I think Ned meant a 1964 is pre-HIN issuance.

A serial # might on there somewhere, but isnt likely to tell you much. Most Ser#s dont.

Often the year of the motor (that are usually easy to date) was used to date the boat when a boat was sold and new regs required it to be titled, which required a year to be listed. Sometimes its accurate sometimes it isnt.

Oops,..... Yes, meant "1964", .(not '62), corrected it. Thank you.

That Johnson engine looks to be newer than a '64 model. The Model # will identify it's year.
