Help identifying my 85 hp Force motor

Hi there,

I was wondering if one of you could be so kind as to help me identify the year for my Force 85HP motor. The only plate I could find on the motor was under the carburator. It has the following information.

85 HP
Model 856XC3L
Serial 1013

I want to get some parts online, but wanted to be sure of the year (1984 or 1985).

I would like to purchase some gaskets, fuel pump, impellar, thermostat, and a carb kit.

numbers are diff than mine but it could be an 86 or 83 my guess would be 83. best to call marine shop they will know for sure. thought id try to help...

You have a 1983 model.
Some retailers will not show it as a Force motor, but as a Chrysler.
Shouldn't matter. I don't think any parts changed from 1983-1984.
