Welcome aboard.

Click on the Forum Help in the sig below and look at how to add photos/pics to your posts. That should get you started.

Also the serial number helps a lot when talking about Mercury outboards.

Blew the pics up some. I'm having trouble finding a wiring diagram.

How many empty bullet connectors are there and what are the colors?

Thanks! There are 4. Two brown. I'm guessing grounds? One blue with white stripe and one green with whiten stripe. The motor starts and runs without them connected to anything.

They come out of the wiring harness right before the main connector where it plugs into the motor. Up at the helm where the harness comes out there are no wires matching these colors.

Blue/White and Green/White are for tilt and trim in one diagram I saw.. Does the motor have TnT?

Yes it does. But all the wiring for the tilt/trim is separate from the harness. And the trim limit switch is down by the transom so I don't know why trim/tilt wires would be up in the motor?

You have the 3 cylinder TnT, don't you? 2 short trim cylinders and 1 long tilt cylinder, along with the pump mounted on the transom clamp.

No just two cylinders. I can post a pic tomorrow if it will help. The boat is a 83 ranger 320v.

All I can say is if the wires are not needed, use some shrink tube to cover over them so nothing can touch and cause any issues. Even if they are not hot, it is a good practice. JMHO!

Yep - That's why I asked if you have the 3 ram type TnT. The boat-side harness has been replaced with a newer one that works on several years of motors with different TnT systems..

Agree with this too, Insulate the the ends to cover that just in case moment.

Is everything working as it should?
