Help in locating S/N

[82RAYSONCRAFT]

I recently purchased an 82 Rayson Craft with an original 225 Black Max. The boat was owened by a good friend up till about 6 yrs ago when he had sold it to help purchuse a home. Enough of that. Anyway I spoted it last week for sale in my neghborhood and bought it for a reasonable price. The guy I got it from has replaced the mid section of the engine with a newer trim unit. By reading most info the original S/N was on this section. Can anyone give me advise on how to find out the original S/N of the top & bottom end?<br /><br />Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that a small plug, about 1" diameter, with the original S/N stamped on it is installed on the powerhead. Not sure where on your particular motor but take a close look and you should find it. AS for the lower unit I don't think there is any S/N associated with it.
