Hey all,

I am working on my project boat that i purchased. (See Sig for More Info)

We removed the floor and floatation foam because it was saturated and rotted out..

We are installing a new floor and floatation foam, as well as all new seat bases and chairs.

Before I put the floor in, i wanted to ask what to do about mounting the pedestals..

They are "Bell" type, so they don't counter sink into the floor, but obviously the screws to mount the seat base do have to go into the floor.

The floor is 1/2" ply wood, and directly under the plywood, is the Hull. Obviously there is some space, but not much, not enough to drop a 3" screw threw the floor.

What is the best way i can mount thease pedestals?

Thanks for the help.

-TheChad

You might want to pose your question in the restoration section.

I believe Realgun mounted some seats like yours during his rebuild. Maybe a search of his topics will help.
