Help Johnson 9.9 Sail Master drops at pee hole

Hi, I have a 1983 Johnson 9.9 Sail Master only a few drop of water come out of the pee hole , I installed a new water pump , blew air though pee hole and cleaned it with small peice of wire. What should I try nexts . Thanks For Your Help

Are you testing it in a barrel? If yes, make sure you have a good depth of water as it can make a real difference. If that isn't the solution you could drop the lower unit and connect a water hose directly to the water tube and pull the thermostat and give it a really good flush. You mentioned you had already replaced the impeller and perhaps you didn't get the water tube properly aligned with the water pump grommet. That can cause the pump discharge to be pinched off and unable to deliver water to the water tube. Was the flow better/worst after you changed the impeller? One more thing to check is the water inlet screen below the pump to make sure water is getting to the pump. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck. Rick.

pinching the water tube grommet is very common cause of that problem.

I'm going to pull the lower unit and try running water through the tube and see what happens. Thanks

When you pull it take a close look at the water tube grommet to see if the water tube has pinched it. That might be your only problem. Rick.
