I need ideas on how to lift the keel of my 16' glass boat a few inches while I build up the keel with marine tex. I finished building the keel area forward of the keel roller, I need to finish the rest. Just need some ideas.

I read a thread a while back where a guy built these wooden stand on wheels to lift his boat off the trailer. I don't know if I need to do something similar but modifiy to fit on a jack stand instead. Just long enough for the marine tex to harden.

Just build out a wooden block and a regular jack if all you need to do is hold it up for a little while. You would need something in the front ti keep it fro going side to side but you could do this with tie downs for a temporary answer I would imagine.

I wanted to add that my boat sits on rollers. I don't know how well the wood block idea would work. I plan on leaving the bow chain on at all times, hopefully I will have enough clearance to do the work. I'm afraid the boat will try to slip off the trailer.

Ayuh,... Unhook the boat from the trailer, then roll it back a few inches...
