help me please 1997 25 mercury

I just got my boat back from a marine shop. I took it in for repair on what I thought was the carb. The guy said all it was water in my gas. I said ok. I put a new tank on it filled with 93 octane and new oil. Istill has the same problem. The problem is when I turn the throttle past 2000rpm or so, it acts like it bogs down or misses <br />. I came home yesterday drained the bowl and tried to clean the carb the best I knew how. Where do I go from here. still runs like @#$%.<br /><br />I am just sick of $70 hr labor although it's worth it I don't have any more money to spend on this motor

Did you by chance notice any excess amount of fuel coming out the exhaust?<br /><br />You may have a weak or damaged fuel pump diaphram.<br />Only about $10 and you can replace it yourself.<br /><br />Does the motor die? or just keep running poorly?<br /><br />Is the choke completely disengaging when you push it in?<br /><br />I think the shop needs to show you that it runs fine before they take your money.

wow, you are having a similar problem that i am having. i have a 1987 25hp mercury. i can get mine up to maybe 1/2 throttle and it starts missing and then when i go full throttle i bogs down and runs like crap. please let me know what you find out. thanks, clint
