Help Mercury outboard

Have a mercury outboard and the reverse forward handle broke off inside not sure what the real name of that part is and it hard to order a part without the name if you know what i mean does any one know the name of this part...

I guess you are talking about the control box handle? Do have a serial # of your engine and a part # to the control box?

If your are talking about the shifter on the side on the motor it is just called a shift lever.
