help, my motor is going crazy

Hi folks,

I already posted, but I can't find my post, so perhaps it didn't go through. I will try again. I have Mercury 40 4 stroke.
When I start it, it runs perfectly at the speed I want, then all of a sudden, the speeds just drops down to almost nothing. All of a sudden, it speeds right back up again for a while and slow again. It runs eratically slow and fast. It is a 2009 so it is fairly new.

I have changed the spark plugs, cleaned the gas filter, replaced the gas in the gas tank. Nothing seems to help. Does anyone have an idea on what could be the problem. The fish are calling me and I am anxious to get back in the water.

Sounds like a fuel pump problem or sucking air somewhere along the fuel line. Have a friend pump the fuel bulb when the problem shows up.
