HELP!! Need info!

Hi all, had an engine blow its guts up, new powerhead price is so close to the engines value to make it not worth it. Was planning on repowering anyhow...just not this year! <br /><br />Who has the best deal on a pair of DF 200 or 225 4 stroke Suzukis out there? Looking for new only, most around here run in the 30 to 34k range installed. Anybody have a line on a better deal? I have seen a pair advertised around 26k, but that was for engines only and not controls, gauges, or installed.<br /><br />Pretty set on the type due to maintenance avialibility in the area and extreame reliability out of another suzuki that I previously owned.<br /><br />So far two of the local dealers in my area have been talking the best, but I have yet to really pressure them on the price, I have a feeling on which one will give the best price, but looking for more education from other areas of the country.

Sounds like you are already working towards getting your best deal by working one dealer against another. I doubt any significant dealer price variances if you bought elsewhere.<br /><br />What brand of controls do you have now?

Mercury controls now, as is the good and whats left of the other engine. As far as gauges it is more of an apperance issue, mercury and Suzuki differ in several areas of gauges (i.e. water temp instead of water pressure etc.) so the gauge change is to have all gauges in the panel match.<br /><br />As far as price, it never hurts to ask questions from around the country to make sure. As you know MSRP and what you can actually buy an item for is two different animals.I would prefer to purchase from my local dealer, for obvious future maintenance reasons, just trying to keep him honest! 4 grand is 4 grand after all!!(the price differance so far just 120 miles apart) I'll trailer that puppy 2 hours to save 4 grand if I have to!
