Many of those electric start engines did not come with a alternator that why you can't find a electric statot they all used a the same ign. stator and the alternator stator was a option that is installed along side the ign. stator. Thanks everyone, the wires were shot, cut them an inch from top and soldered new wires and I'm on to the next problem

I've rebuilt my pump and carb twice can't get the pump to work
have to pump the bulb to keep it running.
Anyone have any ideas?

I only gave the link so you could see that there were 2 stators 1 for ignition and 1 for the alternator. Ignition stator coils can be purchased thru Merc or CDI alternator seldom are bad but may be re round.
